Kathmandu – Fourteen employees of the Rasuwagadhi Customs Office remain out of contact following severe flooding in Rasuwa district, according to the Ministry of Finance.
Search and rescue operations are underway to locate the missing staff, who include permanent employees as well as contract and daily-wage workers.
The Rasuwagadhi Customs Office has 36 permanent staff positions. The ministry said 25 employees, including Chief Customs Administrator Rajendra Dhungana, have been contacted, while the whereabouts of 11 permanent employees remain unknown.
The office also employs four contract and daily-wage workers. Of them, one has been contacted, while three others remain out of contact.
Altogether, 14 employees — 11 permanent and three contract or daily-wage workers — remain unaccounted for.
Severe flooding in the Rasuwagadhi area has damaged and disrupted roads, telecommunications and other infrastructure, making communication and rescue operations more difficult.
The Ministry of Finance said it is coordinating with the local administration and security agencies to locate the missing employees and support ongoing rescue efforts.
