28 Individuals, Including 7 Foreign Nationals, Honored at Asian Professional Achievement Awards
Kathmandu – Season Media Nepal recently recognized 28 outstanding individuals, including seven foreign nationals, for their professional excellence and societal contributions at the Asian Professional Achievement Awards. The awards ceremony was held at The Plaza Hotel in Pulchok, Lalitpur, in the presence of distinguished guests, including Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center and former Prime Minister, and Indira Rana Magar, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Among the honorees, Bal Krishna Shrestha, chairman of Hama Iron and Steel Industries Pvt. Ltd., received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Other notable recipients included Lalitpur Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan, Rajendra Malla, chairman of Prabhu Insurance Company, senior neurosurgeon Dr. Basant Pant, Jyotsna Shrestha, vice president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), and Manoj Gyawali, CEO of Nabil Bank.
The awards also recognized Susan Karmacharya, chairman of Madame Khola Hydropower Ltd.; Santosh Prasai, CEO of Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance Ltd.; and Milan Bahadur Malla, executive director of Morang Auto Works. Media professionals such as Sushil Aryal, editor-in-chief of Newspolar.com, and Shivanee Thapa Basnyat, senior news editor and presenter at Nepal Television, were also honored.
Other awardees included Kamala Giri, managing director of White Coral Spa Academy; Sher Bahadur KC, undersecretary at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration; Dilliram Pangeni, co-founder and CEO of Blue Chip Securities; and singer-composer Shiva Pariyar. IME Life Insurance’s deputy CEO Khilendra Paudel, Lakshmi Thakur, chairperson of Lakshmi Hair and Beauty Academy, Sukadev Karki, founder and president of Nepal Youth Fitness and Calisthenics, and Suresh Rizal, CEO of Omway Technology, were also recognized.
The seven foreign awardees included Cheng Huan, chairman of Gaokang County Photographers Association, Shandong, China; Leang Bopha, chairman of Juba Supply and Maintenance Company Ltd., Cambodia; Moshiur Rahman Sumon, managing director of Hotel Imperial International, Bangladesh; Moinuddin Ahmed, chief photojournalist at The New Nation Daily, Bangladesh; Manimaran AL Suppiah, founder of PRONES (Promotional Association of Global Networking), Malaysia; Funchho Dendup, technical advisor at Bhutan Ministry of Labor, Industry, Commerce and Employment; and Khushi Karki, winner of My Dance, Thailand (Season 1).
At the ceremony, Chairman Dahal emphasized the importance of honoring individuals who contribute to the nation, stating that such recognition motivates others to pursue meaningful work. He expressed confidence that these initiatives would inspire positive action and encourage innovation across sectors.
Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar and House Representative Ek Nath Dhakal highlighted that the platform created by Season Media serves as a source of inspiration, showcasing the dedication and achievements of individuals across diverse fields. Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, president of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, noted that recognizing talent and hard work generates positive energy for the community.
Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan acknowledged the challenges of achieving meaningful work in Nepal, emphasizing the importance of celebrating those who overcome obstacles to make a difference. Former FNCCI president Rajendra Malla encouraged future recognition of individuals contributing from remote areas.
Pradeep Raj Onta, chairman of Season Media, stated that over the past 17 years, the organization has consistently honored individuals making remarkable contributions in social, cultural, and professional spheres. This year, the awards highlighted the accomplishments of 28 individuals from Nepal and other Asian countries who have made a significant impact in their respective fields.
