New Road of Kathmandu gets a Fantabulous Facelift
Kathmandu has seen many initiatives to enhance and beautify the prominent locations of it. Projects have helped to bring together national and international artists to create murals, turning the city into a vibrant living art gallery. These combined efforts have enhanced the visual appeal of the city.
Recently the works related with the widening of sidewalks and concealing the utility wires underground have been completed in New Road area. Now a new initiative is underway to paint all the buildings from Indra Chowk to Statue of Juddha Shamser of New Road in a uniform color.
Binod Rajbhandari, the Chairman of Ward No. 24 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, which is responsible for the New Road area, has expressed his satisfaction with the initiative, which is destined to significantly enhance the visual esthetics of the busy locality. According to him, homeowners of that area have actively participated in this project by covering all expenses by themselves.
