Strengthening Nepal–China Tourism Cooperation in Kathmandu
Kathmandu – A tourism promotion event titled “Nihao! China” was held in Kathmandu on Thursday to highlight the tourism, culture, cuisine, and travel experiences of Nepal and China. Organized by the China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu, the program featured cultural performances, promotional activities, and an awards ceremony for top-performing travel agencies.
Director Xiao Jiang said theOffice is committed to strengthening cooperation between Nepali and Chinese tourism sectors, supporting Chinese provinces in promoting their tourism products in Nepal, and helping Nepali tour operators participate in major tourism fairs such as the China International Travel Mart (CITM).
Officials, including Air China’s General Manager Ma Kun pledged to further enhance tourism collaboration, while Mohan Suwal, also presented China’s tourism attractions and rich culinary diversity.
Diplomats, airline representatives, and travel agencies from both countries attended the event. The China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu, established in 2001, works to promote Chinese tourism resources and facilitate Nepali travelers visiting China.
