76th National Democracy Day Observed Nationwide With Ceremonies and Tributes
Kathmandu— The 76th Democracy Day was observed in Kathmandu on Thursday with a special ceremony held at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel.
The programme was attended by President Ram Chandra Paudel, Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, and other senior government officials. During the event, the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force showcased skills and manoeuvres, while cultural tableaux were also presented.
Democracy Day is being celebrated nationwide with various events, and the government has declared a public holiday on the occasion.
In Nepal’s history, Falgun 7, 2007 BS (February 19, 1951) is remembered as the day the Rana regime ended and democracy was restored in the country.
