Surendra Kumar Upreti Takes Charge as NADA President

Surendra Kumar Upreti has officially assumed office as the president of the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal (NADA), succeeding outgoing president Karan Chaudhary.
The handover of responsibilities was conducted during the first meeting of the newly elected central executive committee. On the occasion, Chaudhary congratulated Upreti and expressed confidence that his leadership would contribute significantly to strengthening the institution and advancing Nepal’s automobile sector.
After assuming office, President Upreti took the oath of office and secrecy and pledged to make NADA more effective, active, and impactful in line with the association’s objectives, statute, and organisational values. He stated that his tenure would focus on protecting the interests of member businesses, promoting the development of the automobile sector, and strengthening cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
Upreti currently serves as the Managing Director of STC Group, the authorised distributor of CEAT tyres in Nepal, and previously held the position of General Secretary of NADA.
During the meeting, Upreti nominated Mahesh Pal, Deepak Kumar Agrawal, and Rajesh Giri as members of the central executive committee in accordance with Article 20.1 (Clause ‘Nga’) of the NADA statute 2078.
The central executive committee also decided to proceed with the election process to select other office-bearers in the near future.
NADA expressed confidence that the association will continue working toward the overall development of Nepal’s automobile sector, safeguarding the interests of entrepreneurs, and strengthening policy collaboration with concerned authorities.
