Nepal airlines to operate special flights to gulf region from 3-5 April 2026
Kathmandu, Nepal – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Nepal Airlines will operate special flights on selected routes from 3 to 5 April 2026, following an initiative by Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Shisir Khanal.
The decision was made after a meeting on 31 March 2026 at the Office of the Hon. Minister, attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), and Nepal Airlines. The meeting focused on facilitating travel for Nepali nationals in the Gulf region and maintaining essential air connectivity, which has been suspended since 28 February 2026 due to ongoing tensions and security concerns in West Asia.
The Ministry expressed gratitude to Nepal Airlines for arranging the special flights and acknowledged the support of Rastriya Beema Company Limited for providing necessary insurance coverage. Appreciation was also extended to all other agencies involved in ensuring smooth coordination.
Flight Schedule:
- 03 April 2026: Flight RA 229 – Kathmandu to Dubai
- 04 April 2026: Flight RA 230 – Dubai to Kathmandu
- 05 April 2026: Flight RA 241 – Kathmandu to Damam
- 05 April 2026: Flight RA 242 – Damam to Kathmandu
- 01 April 2026: Kuwait Airways flight – Arrival at Gautam Buddha International Airport, Bhairahawa, carrying 291 passengers and the remains of nine Nepali citizens
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the interests of Nepali citizens abroad and strengthening international air connectivity.
