Ministry Orders Refund of Illegal School Fees, Warns Against Early Admissions
Kathmandu-The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has directed all local governments to ensure the refund of admission fees collected in violation of the law, along with any additional charges imposed beyond the approved guidelines.
The Ministry has also instructed authorities to strictly implement the order of the Supreme Court of Nepal, which prohibits student admissions before the official start of the new academic session.
In a statement issued by spokesperson Shiva Kumar Sapkota, the Ministry emphasized that student enrollment must only take place after the academic session begins. It also urged schools to follow the prescribed fee structure and warned that institutions charging unauthorized fees and failing to refund them could face legal action.
Additionally, the Ministry cautioned that enrolling students prior to the academic session, in defiance of the Supreme Court’s order issued last Friday, will be considered a punishable offense.
The new academic session is scheduled to begin from Baisakh 15.
