Amputee Runway Nepal 2026 concludes successfully in Kathmandu, Rima Puri crowned champion
Kathmandu: Amputee Runway Nepal 2026 concluded on a grand and inspiring note at Club Platinum, Durbarmarg, bringing forward a powerful celebration of confidence, courage, and representation. Organized by Nirmala Foundation, the event embraced the theme “From the Sideline to the Spotlight” and delivered a strong message of inclusion and empowerment.

The event brought together individuals with limb differences who walked the runway with pride using prosthetic limbs, redefining beauty, strength, and identity. More than a fashion show, the program stood as a transformative platform that celebrated resilience, self expression, and inner strength.

Rima Puri emerged as the winner of Amputee Runway Nepal 2026 and received a cash prize of Rs. 25,000. The runner up positions were secured by Nirmala Pariyar, Ganga Puri, Dhan Bahadur Mahata, and Prakash Singh, each receiving Rs. 10,000. Their performances reflected elegance along with powerful personal journeys of determination and confidence.
According to the organizers, the event featured eight female and four male participants from diverse backgrounds including athletes, professionals, and individuals active in social sectors. The presence of amputee football players added further energy and inspiration, making the event a truly inclusive celebration.
Unlike typical runway events, Amputee Runway Nepal 2026 was part of a broader two week program designed to prepare participants through grooming sessions, personality development, and confidence building activities. The initiative also focused on practical knowledge such as the care and management of prosthetic limbs, supporting participants in their daily lives.
Held in April, which is globally observed as Limb Loss Awareness Month, the event played an important role in raising awareness and changing societal perceptions toward people with disabilities. It reinforced the message that individuals using prosthetic arms or legs can fully participate in fashion, creativity, and self expression without limitations.
The runway demonstrated that beauty is not defined by physical perfection but by courage, resilience, and identity. Participants walked in designer outfits, proudly embracing their prosthetic limbs as symbols of strength rather than barriers.
The event was supported by partners including Ray TV HD as Media Partner, Nepal on the Web as Digital Partner, Art of Living Nepal as Volunteer Partner, and Soch, The Creation as Design Partner, among others.

With its impactful message and emotional moments, Amputee Runway Nepal 2026 has once again proven that it is more than a runway. It stands as a powerful movement promoting visibility, dignity, and equal opportunity for all.

As participants walked the stage, they did not seek validation, they inspired a nation.
