Karnali Wins Bagmati Province Amputee Futsal Championship
Kathmandu — The Bagmati Province Amputee Futsal Championship, organized by Nirmala Foundation, has been successfully completed in Kathmandu.
The tournament was held on Saturday at Highway Futsal, with three teams representing Gandaki, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces.
Karnali Province won the championship after collecting four points from two matches, with one win and one draw. Along with the title, Karnali received Rs. 25,000, a trophy, and medals.
Bagmati Province finished as runner-up with two points from two draws, while Gandaki Province secured third place with one point from one draw and one loss. Bagmati received Rs. 15,000, while Gandaki received Rs. 10,000.
Karnali’s Sudeep Chapagain was named Best Player and also won the Highest Scorer award. Karnali’s Chet Narayan Khanal received the Best Goalkeeper award. Each individual award winner received Rs. 5,000 and a medal.
ANFA Vice President and Kathmandu District Football Association President Birat Jung Shahi attended the prize distribution ceremony as the chief guest. Nepal national men’s football team assistant coach Bal Gopal Sahu Khala was also present as a special guest.
The organizers said the tournament highlighted the skills, confidence, and dedication of amputee athletes while promoting a positive message for inclusive sports development.
