Nepali Film “Elephants in the Fog” Wins Prestigious Jury Prize at Cannes
Kathmandu: Nepal has marked a significant achievement in international cinema after the Nepali film “Elephants in the Fog” won the Jury Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
The Nepal Tourism Board congratulated former NTB team member Abinash Bikram Shah and the entire cast and crew for the historic recognition. The board said the achievement reflects the growing strength of Nepali storytelling and the ability of local stories to connect with global audiences.
The award is being viewed as an important milestone for Nepali cinema, highlighting stories rooted in Nepal’s people, culture, emotions, and social realities. NTB also noted that Shah’s contribution has helped place Nepal and Nepali creativity more prominently on the international stage.
