Rain Expected in many parts of Nepal today; Heatwave and strong winds likely in Terai

Kathmandu-According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, many parts of the country are expected to experience cloud cover and rainfall today.

Light to moderate rain was recorded in many areas of Gandaki, Bagmati, Madhesh, and Koshi provinces during the night. Some places in Karnali, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces also received light rainfall. The highest rainfall was recorded in Kaski, with 57 millimeters.

Meanwhile, extreme heat affected most parts of the country yesterday. Temperatures rose above 40°C in Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Dipayal, impacting daily life.Today, hot weather is likely to continue in the Terai regions of Sudurpaschim and Lumbini provinces. Strong winds are also possible in some parts of the Terai in Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
