RSP chair Rabi Lamichhane meets Indian prime minister Narendra Modi during India visit
New Delhi: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane, who is currently on an official visit to India, held a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office in New Delhi. Prime Minister Modi shared details of the meeting through a post on social media platform X, stating that the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.
Expressing his pleasure at meeting Lamichhane, Modi said he welcomed and fully supported the RSP leader’s desire to work closely together for shared prosperity and a brighter future.Modi also emphasized that, under India’s “Neighbourhood First” policy, Nepal remains one of India’s priority partners. He noted that India looks forward to working with Nepal’s new government to further strengthen the special and multidimensional relationship between the two countries.Lamichhane arrived in India on Monday for a five-day visit at the invitation of Nitin Navin, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
On Tuesday, Lamichhane held separate meetings with Indian Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. He also met senior BJP leaders, including Navin, at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi.The delegation accompanying Lamichhane includes his wife Nikita Paudel, party Joint General Secretary Bipin Acharya, Secretariat Member Deepak Bohara, and Personal Secretary Pradeep Acharya.
