Government approves four Hydropower Projects to use National Forest Land
Kathmandu: The government has approved the use of national forest land for four hydropower projects. The decision was made during today’s Cabinet meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.
The projects receiving approval are the Lower Arun Hydropower Project, Lower Nyadi Khola Hydropower Project, Ghunsa Khola Hydropower Project, and Tadi Khola Hydropower Project. The approval will allow these projects to use required forest areas for their development work.
The Cabinet also approved the Civil Service (16th Amendment) Regulations, 2083. Similarly, the government decided to form a nine-member ad hoc committee under the chairmanship of Bishalkumar Bhandari to manage and organize the leadership and administration of the Nepal Red Cross Society.
Government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel, informed that the Cabinet also decided to receive the report submitted by the committee formed to study and investigate matters related to former Home Minister and House of Representatives member Sudhan Gurung.
