Kathmandu – The Chinese Embassy in Nepal on Wednesday launched the 2026 Chinese Embassy Youth Pioneer Programme (CNYP), an initiative aimed at empowering young Nepalis through civic engagement, cultural exchange and leadership development.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal H. E. Zhang Maoming attended the launch ceremony and met with outstanding young talents from diverse fields across Nepal. Addressing the participants, he expressed hope that members of the programme would acquire valuable knowledge and practical skills, excel in their respective professions, and contribute to Nepal’s development and prosperity while further strengthening Nepal-China relations.

According to the embassy, the programme seeks to cultivate a network of young and patriotic leaders committed to promoting positive social and economic change in Nepal and serving as catalysts for the country’s future development.
As part of the initiative, participants will take part in a series of leadership training sessions and interactive workshops focusing on leadership, strategic thinking and civic engagement. The programme will also encourage participants to explore practical solutions to social challenges through in-depth discussions and collaborative activities.
The Chinese side will provide scholarships and professional training opportunities for selected participants under the programme.
