Kathmandu – Popular Nepali singer and songwriter Raju Lama has successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, bringing him closer to completing the prestigious Seven Summits challenge.
According to IFMGA mountain guide and instructor Abiral Rai, Lama reached the summit of the 5,895-meter-high Kilimanjaro at around 9:00 AM local time on August 11. Rai also accompanied him during the climb.
Known widely for his music career, Lama has increasingly taken on mountaineering challenges in recent years. He previously successfully climbed Mount Everest on May 16, 2022.
With Kilimanjaro completed, Lama has now climbed four of the Seven Summits: Mount Everest, Carstensz Pyramid, Mount Elbrus, and Mount Kilimanjaro.
To complete the Seven Summits challenge, he now has three peaks remaining: Denali in North America, Aconcagua in South America, and Mount Vinson in Antarctica.
