Kathmandu – The third batch of China-aided emergency relief supplies has arrived in Nepal, further strengthening disaster response efforts following the recent floods and devastation.
The relief materials reached Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, on the afternoon of September 3, 2026, aboard a Y-20A large transport aircraft operated by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force.
A team of 10 Chinese forensic experts also arrived on the same flight as the fourth batch of Chinese experts deployed to Nepal. The experts will assist Nepali authorities in accelerating the identification of disaster victims.
The handover ceremony was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Nepal H.E. Zhang Maoming and Nepal’s Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahabir Pun, who welcomed the relief assistance and expert team.
The latest shipment includes essential disaster response materials such as mortuary freezers, epidemic prevention supplies, and daily necessities to support affected communities.
The third batch of assistance also includes Bailey bridges, which are urgently needed to restore connectivity in disaster-hit areas. Equipment required for the installation of the first batch of Bailey bridges has already reached the Lizi–Nechung border port through land routes for handover.
China’s continued support highlights the ongoing cooperation between China and Nepal in overcoming disaster challenges and supporting recovery efforts.
