Xiaomi launches Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A
November 12, 2019: Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi has announced the launch of its two new models Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A.
Both the phones come with a massive 5000mAh battery, allowing users long hours of usage with every single charge.
Featuring the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 octa-core chipset, Xiaomi has for the first time in the segment introduced the USB Type-C 18W fast charging support for both smartphones.
These smartphones are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and P2i’s nano-coating makes them splash resistant.
With a 6.22-inch (15.8cm) Dot Notch HD+ display, Redmi 8A features an aspect ratio of 19:9, promising an immersive experience and overall ergonomics.
Redmi 8A features a 2+1 dual SIM slot with dedicated microSD card support that allows further storage expansion up to 512GB.
One of the most significant upgrades on Redmi 8A, is on the camera front as it now comes with a 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor.
Meanwhile, Redmi 8 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Redmi 8 has an AI dual camera setup on the rear, comprising of a 12MP primary sensor and a dedicated 2MP depth sensor.
Redmi 8 comes with a 15.8cm (6.2) high definition IPS LCD screen. It has a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear for convenient security and also supports AI face unlock.
The user experience is further enhanced by dual SIM usage with a dedicated microSD card slot (2+1 slot) further expanding the storage up to 256GB.
Available in sunset red, ocean blue and midnight black colour variants, the Redmi 8A 2GB+32GB is priced at Rs 11,999 and the 3GB+32GB is priced at Rs 12,999.
The 4GB+64GB variant of Redmi 8 will be available for Rs 14,999 in onyx black, ruby red and sapphire blue colours
Both phones are available from November 11 across Mi authorized partners, Daraz.com and Sastodeal.
