Nawalpur – Officials from the Department of Mines and Geology have detected the presence of carbon monoxide gas in the smoke continuously emerging from underground at Ghangi Bhir in Peleka, Hupsekot-6, Nawalpur.
A technical team from the department collected samples of soil, rocks and smoke residues from the site for further investigation. The collected samples will be tested in a laboratory to determine the exact cause behind the continuous emission of smoke from the ground.
According to the department, the laboratory analysis will provide more details about the source and nature of the underground smoke. Further findings will be shared after the completion of the scientific examination.
The unusual smoke emission from the area has drawn attention from local residents and authorities, prompting geological experts to conduct a detailed study of the site.
