Kathmandu – Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, Mohammad Aamir Khan, visited the central office of Rashtriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) in Bhadrakali and expressed condolences to journalist Kalika Khadka over the disappearance of her husband, journalist Tekraj Thami, in the Bhotekoshi flood.
Ambassador Khan expressed sympathy with Khadka and her family and said Pakistan stood in solidarity with those affected by the disaster. He also expressed his willingness to provide necessary assistance and offered support for the education of Khadka’s daughter.
During the visit, Ambassador Khan highlighted the longstanding ties between Nepal and Pakistan, particularly in education, culture and people-to-people relations. He noted that many Nepali students have received scholarships to study in Pakistan and expressed interest in further strengthening educational cooperation.
The ambassador also visited the RSS Museum and praised RSS for its contribution to Nepal’s journalism sector. Discussions were held on possible institutional cooperation between RSS and the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), as well as collaboration in journalism, cultural heritage and climate-related issues.
RSS officials also emphasized the importance of stronger media cooperation between Nepal and Pakistan, particularly in sharing information and raising awareness about challenges such as climate change.
