Kathmandu – Bhatbhateni Supermarket’s Tangal outlet in Kathmandu has officially reopened its doors to customers today, marking an important milestone in the company’s reconstruction efforts following the damage it suffered last year.
The Tangal outlet was among Bhatbhateni stores affected during the September 2025 unrest, when several outlets across Nepal were looted, vandalized, or damaged by fire. The store remained closed while extensive reconstruction and restoration work was carried out.
With the reopening of the Tangal branch, customers can once again access Bhatbhateni’s regular range of products and services. The company has been working to restore its damaged outlets, with reports stating that most of the affected stores have already resumed operations. Reconstruction work is still continuing at the remaining outlets in Damak and Hetauda.
The reopening also highlights the company’s efforts to retain its workforce during the reconstruction period. Bhatbhateni has stated that it continued providing employment to more than 10,000 employees despite the extensive damage to its stores.
The return of the Tangal outlet is expected to restore regular shopping services for customers in and around the area while representing another step in Bhatbhateni’s wider recovery and rebuilding process.
The reopening of the Tangal store marks a significant return for one of Kathmandu’s established retail outlets, as Bhatbhateni continues its efforts to restore its operations across Nepal.
