Arthur Gunn bags the runner-up title on American Idol.
May 19, 2020: The Nepali-origin artist, also known as Arthur Gunn, bags the runner-up title on American Idol.
Pokharel lost the coveted title to Just Sam, a former subway singer from New York.
During the final round of the contest, Pokharel sang, 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain' by Creedence Clearwater Revival and 'I Don’t Want To Be' by Gavin DeGraw .
Due to the Covid-19 crisis contestants were sent home at the Top 20 phase. Just Sam became the show's first ever "at home" winner, beating out finalists Julia Gargano, Arthur Gunn, Dillon James, Louis Knight, Francisco Martin and Jonny West.
Pokharel, who’s originally from Kathmandu, moved to Kansas, USA, five years ago.
“If there are anymore like you in Kathmandu, please get on the phone and call them and tell them to come out next year! Please!!” Luke Bryan said to Arthur Gunn in the finale.
