Japan -Nepal finished its men’s kabaddi campaign at the 20th Asian Games in Japan with a strong consolation victory, defeating Malaysia 73–52 in the final group-stage match.
Nepal started the match aggressively, taking a 37–21 lead in the first half. Malaysia fought back in the second half, with both teams scoring closely as Nepal edged the period 36–31 to secure a comfortable 21-point victory.
The win came after Nepal had already been ruled out of semifinal contention following three consecutive defeats in the earlier group matches.
Meanwhile, Nepal’s women’s kabaddi team will play its final group-stage match against Sri Lanka today. The women’s team remains in the race for a place in the semifinals.
