Dolpa – Flight operations at Juphal Airport in Dolpa have been affected after a Sita Air aircraft encountered an incident during landing on Thursday morning. No casualties have been reported, and all passengers and crew members are safe.
The aircraft, which was operating a flight from Nepalgunj to Juphal Airport, faced difficulty while landing at around 8:25 AM. According to local authorities, the aircraft’s right rear wheel detached during the landing process, causing it to move off its normal path and bounce along the runway.
The pilot responded immediately by shutting down the aircraft engine, which helped prevent further risk. Police officials confirmed that all 13 passengers onboard were unharmed, including seven foreign nationals travelling on the flight.
Following the incident, the aircraft remains positioned on the runway, leading to a temporary disruption of flight services at Juphal Airport. Authorities and airport officials are working to remove the aircraft and restore normal runway operations.
Until the aircraft is cleared, flights scheduled to arrive at or depart from the airport remain affected. Further updates on the resumption of services are expected after the runway is reopened.
