Kathmandu – Nepal Women Chamber is set to launch “Chamber Bazaar” at the Chamber of Commerce building in Jamal from Saturday, October 3.
The market aims to promote products made by women entrepreneurs, improve their access to customers and support the expansion of their businesses.
Food products, clothing, handicrafts and other locally made goods will be available at the market. Stalls from organisations including Salt Trading will also be featured.
The market will promote products made by women entrepreneurs alongside selected import and export-oriented goods.
Nepal Women Chamber President Urmila Shrestha said the programme would also provide aspiring and existing women entrepreneurs with guidance on government procedures and business operations.
Other activities will include skills and vocational training, women’s health awareness programmes and free health check-ups.
The market will initially operate on Saturdays and Sundays during the festive season. It will continue every Saturday after the festivals, according to the organiser.
Chamber Secretary Ira Prasai said the initiative would serve as more than a commercial fair. It will be developed as an ongoing campaign for women’s economic empowerment, skills development, market access and business capacity building.
The programme is being organised with the cooperation and support of Nepal Youth Chamber. Its main objective is to help women entrepreneurs expand their markets and encourage more women to enter business.
