Dhangadhi — The IBM TechX Program was launched in Dhangadhi on Wednesday, bringing together government representatives, technology professionals, academic institutions and industry leaders to discuss digital transformation and technology development in Sudurpashchim Province.
The programme was inaugurated by Khag Raj Bhatta, Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Province, who attended as the chief guest. The event highlighted the importance of strengthening digital governance, technology adoption and technical skills to support the province’s growing digital economy.
Representatives from the Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation), academic institutions and technology companies also participated in the programme. Among those attending were Chiranjibi Adhikari, Acting President of CAN Federation; Hark Seti, Vice President; Omkar Shrestha, Central Executive Member; and Dhiren Bogati, President of CAN Federation Sudurpashchim Province.
The programme also brought together representatives from PCPS and technology professionals, including Kripa Shrestha, Chief Growth Officer at PCPS, Rishika Dahal, Officer at PCPS, and Baburam Shrestha, AI Consultant at One Cover Private Limited.
Discussions at the event focused on the growing need for artificial intelligence, automation, cloud technologies, cybersecurity and digital skills as organisations increasingly adopt new technologies. Participants also highlighted the importance of protecting digital systems and data as technology adoption expands across businesses and institutions.
Cybersecurity was another key area of discussion, with experts stressing the need for stronger protection of digital infrastructure against emerging cyber threats. One Cover Private Limited was presented as a technology and cybersecurity solutions provider supporting organisations in strengthening their digital security.
The launch is expected to contribute to greater awareness of emerging technologies and professional training opportunities in Sudurpashchim, while encouraging stronger collaboration between government, academia and the private sector.
The initiative also reflects wider efforts to connect professionals and institutions in Nepal with international technology ecosystems and develop a workforce capable of meeting the demands of an increasingly digital economy.
