Kathmandu – The Nepal Fintech Expo 2026 is set to begin Friday in Sanepa, Lalitpur, bringing together the latest developments in banking, financial technology (fintech) and artificial intelligence (AI) under one roof.
Organised by Fintech Alliance Nepal (FAN), the second edition of the expo will be held from October 9 to 11 (Asoj 23–25) at Heritage Garden, Sanepa. The event will bring together representatives from banks and financial institutions, fintech companies, payment service providers, technology firms, startups, investors and regulatory bodies.
The expo will be inaugurated at 10 am on Friday by Nepal Rastra Bank Senior Deputy Governor Kiran Pandit, followed by a formal tour of the exhibition area.
This year’s expo has been expanded to three days and will feature more than 65 stalls, along with two experience zones focused on digital finance and cybersecurity. Organisers expect more than 8,000 visitors over the three days.
The first day will be observed as “Bankers Day,” featuring policy discussions and a networking dinner in the evening. The second day will be dedicated to “Diaspora Day”, with various programmes planned for participants.
The exhibition will feature two stages—Loop Stage and Everest Cloud Stage—where participating companies will launch new products and demonstrate their technologies.
Key attractions will include AI-based identity verification, digital onboarding, digital lending technology, data platforms, cybersecurity and business messaging. Technologies related to digital payments, digital banking, core banking software, data analytics, and AML/KYC will also be showcased.
A dedicated Startup Pavilion has been arranged to promote new fintech ventures, particularly those led by women and young entrepreneurs. The experience zones will provide practical information on secure digital payments, ways to avoid cyber fraud and consumer rights.
According to the organisers, the expo comes at a time when digital financial services are rapidly expanding in Nepal. Nepal Rastra Bank data up to May 2026 shows that the number of digital wallet users has reached 28.3 million, compared with around 6.3 million in 2020.
Similarly, mobile banking users have surpassed 30 million, while QR-based transactions have also increased significantly. Monthly QR transactions have risen from fewer than 200,000 in 2020 to around 59.3 million currently, according to the organisers.
Entry fees have been set at Rs 200 for the general public and Rs 50 for students. Visitors can register online through Khalti.
The opening ceremony will also feature remarks from Everest Cloud CEO Arun Khatri, Loop Founder and CEO Sajan Sharma, and Fintech Alliance Nepal President Amit Agrawal.
