Kathmandu – A Nepalese Cultural and Tourism Goodwill delegation of senior tourism professionals , government officials and distinguished personalities from various sectors has embarked on a visit to Inner Mongolia, China, on Friday, as part of an initiative to deepen Nepal–China cultural exchange, strengthen tourism cooperation and promote people-to-people relations.
Hosted by the China Cultural Centre in Nepal and the China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu, the visit aims to foster mutual understanding, encourage dialogue among tourism stakeholders and explore new avenues for collaboration in cultural heritage, destination promotion and sustainable tourism development.
The initiative reflects the importance of cultural diplomacy and tourism as bridges between nations, bringing people closer through shared heritage, traditions and travel experiences. For Nepal and China, both home to rich cultural legacies and diverse natural landscapes, such exchanges offer opportunities to expand tourism partnerships, strengthen institutional connections and encourage greater cross-cultural engagement.
Located in northern China, Inner Mongolia is known for its vast grasslands, sweeping deserts, rivers and distinctive ethnic cultures. Its long history, traditional lifestyles and vibrant cultural heritage offer visitors a distinctive perspective on China’s regional diversity and tourism potential.
The visit also provides an opportunity for the Nepali delegation to gain insights into destination management, cultural tourism and regional tourism promotion while exploring possibilities for future cooperation between tourism institutions and industry professionals in both countries.
Through such exchanges, the organisers seek to advance the high-quality development of culture and tourism, reinforce the longstanding friendship between Nepal and China, and create new opportunities for cultural understanding, tourism investment and closer engagement between their peoples.
