Kathmandu — Passengers arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) can now view a live feed of the baggage-handling area while waiting for their luggage at the baggage claim section.
The new system has been introduced to make baggage handling more transparent, organised and passenger-friendly. A live view of the baggage drop area is now available in the arrivals hall near the baggage claim area.
Through the system, passengers arriving on international flights can see the ongoing baggage-handling process after luggage is unloaded from their aircraft. The live feed allows travellers to monitor when their baggage is being processed and moved toward the baggage belt.
The initiative is expected to help passengers better understand the status of their luggage and estimate how long they may need to wait before baggage reaches the claim belt.
Previously, passengers had limited direct information about when luggage unloaded from an aircraft would arrive at the baggage claim area. This often left travellers waiting without knowing the progress of the baggage-handling process.
The new live-feed system is intended to reduce that uncertainty by allowing passengers to observe activity in the baggage-handling area from the arrivals section. The airport expects the arrangement to make the baggage collection process more convenient and organised for international passengers.
