Kathmandu – The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in collaboration with TikTok and the Government of Nepal, officially launched the #VisitNepal campaign on Friday, November 6, 2026, to promote Nepal’s tourism destinations, cultural heritage and unique travel experiences to international audiences.
The campaign aims to introduce Nepal to global travellers through creative digital content, storytelling and social media engagement. Running until the end of 2026, the initiative is expected to support tourism promotion while creating opportunities for local content creators, entrepreneurs, businesses and communities.
Minister for Information and Communications Dr. Bikram Timilsina attended the launch ceremony as chief guest. Addressing the programme, he highlighted the growing influence of digital platforms in shaping how international travellers discover destinations.
Timilsina said content shared from one part of the world could inspire people elsewhere to visit Nepal. He welcomed TikTok as a potential long-term partner in connecting Nepal’s tourism, culture, creativity and young people with international audiences.
Sunil Sharma, Acting Director of the Public Relations and Publicity Department at the Nepal Tourism Board, described the partnership as an important development in Nepal’s destination marketing strategy.
Sharma said the experience gained through the collaboration could help expand partnerships with other international digital platforms and strengthen Nepal’s global visibility. He encouraged creators to showcase not only scenic landscapes but also Nepal’s cultural diversity, natural environment and connections with local communities.
As part of the campaign, nine international travel content creators from Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South Asia are visiting different destinations across Nepal. Their scheduled visit runs from October 30 to November 7, during which they are sharing travel experiences with audiences worldwide.
A dedicated #VisitNepal hashtag page has also been introduced on TikTok. The Nepal Tourism Board will collaborate with Nepali celebrities and local content creators through TikTok’s collaboration features to promote authentic stories and local perspectives.
The campaign will additionally feature livestreams from tourism destinations, allowing international audiences to explore Nepal’s attractions through digital experiences.
Emir Gelen, TikTok’s Head of Government Relations and Public Policy for the Middle East, Eurasia and Africa, said the partnership could help present Nepal’s tourism potential internationally while supporting local creators and small businesses through the digital economy.
He emphasized the importance of extending the partnership beyond tourism promotion to support community development, local entrepreneurship and international recognition of Nepali arts and culture.
The initiative aligns with the tourism promotion priorities of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and seeks to strengthen cooperation among government agencies, private businesses, media organizations and digital creators.
Before the campaign launch, TikTok and the Nepal Tourism Board had jointly provided digital storytelling training to more than 300 local tourism entrepreneurs and content creators.
Through the #VisitNepal campaign, the organizers aim to strengthen Nepal’s international tourism presence by encouraging authentic digital storytelling and wider participation from local communities.
