Tenzing and Srijana won the Late Babu Chiri Memorial Climbing Competition
The inaugural ‘Late Babu Chiri Sherpa Memorial Open Sport Climbing’ competition took place at Crimpanzee Adventure Hub in Boudha on Thursday. Tenzing Rai and Srijana Tamang triumphed as the winners among men and women, respectively, receiving cash prizes of 50,000 rupees each. Ronak Upreti and Sajan Lama secured second and third places among men, while Swastika Chaudhary and Prerna Rai secured second and third positions in the women’s category. The cash prize for the second position was Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 15,000 for the third position for both categories.
The New York-based Alpine Sports Association, Inc. and the Everest Summiteers Association with technical assistance from the Nepal National Mountaineering Instructors Association supported the event.
