Overcome Exam Stress: Tips for Children, Parents and Teachers
As the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) is starting from 15 Chaitra (28 March), many children experience significant stress.
The current examination system, connected with pressure from different schools, can lead to psychological problems. This stress isn’t limited to students – it can affect teachers and parents as well.
The key to success lies in helping children understand that exams are a natural part of education throughout their lives.
Here’s a collaborative approach for a smoother exam season:
For Children:
- Maintain a Healthy Mindset: Approach exams calmly, avoiding unnecessary stress.
- Fuel Your Body: Stay hydrated with water and eat a balanced diet of rich seasonal fruits.
- Take Breaks: Avoid overeating and schedule breaks for physical activity and relaxation, perhaps with some music.
For Parents:
- Prioritize Health: Ensure your child gets enough sleep and eats nutritious meals.
- Offer Support: Collaborate with your child in their studies and provide positive encouragement.
- Be Organized: Manage their educational materials and help them create a study schedule.
- Exam Day Preparation: Ensure children have a copy of their admit card and arrive at the exam center early.
For Schools and Teachers:
- Motivate, Don’t Discourage: Avoid using negative language. Focus on positive reinforcement and clear communication.
- Work with Parents: Understand the financial constraints some families face and avoid pressuring children. Collaborate with parents to create a supportive environment.
- Positive Reinforcement: Encourage children with positive thoughts and well wishes.
Exams are tough but think of them as practice for even tougher things to come. Stay healthy, stay cool, and everyone will ace them all!
