China’s support vital for Nepal’s development
Kathmandu: Friends on the Cloud: Platform of Influencers Nepal hosted a discussion program on “Through My Eyes: The Practice of Chinese Path to Modernization” in Kathmandu on Monday. China Affairs Expert and Diplomat Hiranyalal Shrestha emphasized the importance of Chinese support for Nepal’s development, noting the mutual respect both nations hold for each other’s sovereignty.
Shrestha highlighted the significance of the recently opened trade routes to China and the growing frequency of bilateral visits, which have strengthened political, economic, and social ties between the two countries.
During the event, a book titled “Through Nepali Eyes: The Practice of Chinese Path to Modernization” was launched. The book compiles the experiences of Nepali artists, journalists, and businesspersons during their recent visit to China. On the invitation of the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party and organized by Friends on the Cloud: Platform of Influencers Nepal, the book reflects on their observations and experiences throughout the trip.
Personalities like Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, the former president of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Phulman Bal, General Manager of Nepal Television and others shared insights on Nepal-China relations. Sovit Upreti, Chairperson of Friends on the Cloud: Platform of Influencers Nepal, noted that such visits foster stronger people-to-people connections and enhance mutual understanding of geographical and social contexts. Madan Das Shrestha, veteran artist also shared memories from his past visits to China, highlighting the longstanding relationship between the two nations.
