Alliance Française Kathmandu celebrates its 30th Anniversary on World Music Day with Iconic Fête de la Musique

Kathmandu: The Alliance Française Kathmandu (AFK) is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary with an unforgettable Fête de la Musique on 21 June, Friday, coinciding with World Music Day.
This year’s festivities promise to be exceptional, starting with a French lunch accompanied by Gypsy Swing music from Hot Club Patan at the Bistrot from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. The afternoon will continue with relaxing garden activities, including pétanque and molky, set to folk and jazz music by The Phoenix and Ghugu Mugu from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
A cheese aperitif featuring Himalayan French Cheese on the rooftop will follow from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, with performances by Nami and electro music by KaN. The evening garden party from 6:30 PM will feature performances by Kutumba and Anna Stirr, the French indie pop band UltraRomance, blues rock by Satish Sthapit Blues Explosion, and hip-hop rhythms by Amazumi with Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory musicians. The celebration will conclude with an after-party performance by Monika Tamang Goley at the indoor auditorium.
Throughout the event, refreshment stands will offer a selection of cocktails and culinary delights by Pauline’s Jhamsikhel. The event will be held at the Alliance Française of Kathmandu, located behind St. Mary’s School in Pulchowk Lalitpur, with the last entry at 10:00 PM.
