Nepali citizens can now use QR payment in India and Bhutan
In a significant development for cross-border digital payments, Nepal Rastra Bank has authorized its citizens to use QR codes for transactions in India and Bhutan. This decision comes three months after Indian citizens gained the ability to make payments via mobile phones in Nepal.
Key details of the new policy include a daily merchant payment limit of NPR 15,000 and a monthly limit of NPR 100,000. However, this service is strictly limited to payments for goods and services within India.
This move is expected to facilitate easier and more efficient transactions between Nepal, India, and Bhutan, fostering greater economic integration and trade opportunities in the region.
