New vehicles arriving for the NADA Auto Show in Kathmandu
Kathmandu: Most new vehicles to be showcased at the upcoming NADA Auto Show starting on September 11 have already arrived in Nepal. Auto dealers have brought in over a dozen models for display at the event.
Similar to last year, this year’s NADA Auto Show is expected to be dominated by electric vehicles (EVs). The electric vehicle share in the Nepali auto market was 65% last year, and the import of EVs had increased by 192% in the past year.
Only 4-5 brands of petrol vehicles will be displayed at the show, with Hyundai and Mahindra being the main ones. Both brands will also showcase their EV versions. There will be 22 stalls for passenger segment vehicles at the NADA Auto Show.
For auto dealers, the NADA Auto Show is a major opportunity for vehicle sales, with 60% of annual transactions occurring during the event.
Key Highlights of the NADA Auto Show:
Tata Punch EV: Tata’s Punch EV has arrived in the Nepali market. Official dealer Sipradi Trading has brought two units of the Punch EV for testing. The vehicle will be featured at the NADA Auto Show. Last year, Tata launched the petrol version of the Punch at the show.
Avatar 11: Chinese manufacturer Avatar’s new EV will also be showcased. The official dealers, Chaudhary and MAW Group have brought four units of the Avatar 11 to Nepal. This model, which began production in 2022, will be introduced to the Nepali market at the show.
Jaecoo J6: Chery’s sub-brand, Jaecoo J6, has arrived in Nepal. SPG Automobiles, the official dealer, has imported this vehicle, which will be displayed at the show.
Mahindra 3X0 and XUV 400: Mahindra’s XUV 3X0 is now in Nepal. Mahindra will showcase both a petrol version and the XUV 400 EV at the NADA Auto Show.
Hyundai Creta Facelift: The new Hyundai Creta facelift SUV will be on display during the show.
Great Wall Motors Tank 500 and F10: Great Wall Motors will feature two models at the show: the Tank 500 Hybrid and the Link Tour F10 hatchback.
Leapmotor: Leapmotor vehicles have arrived in Nepal, but there is uncertainty about which official dealer will display them at the show. The TiZero 3 model is expected to be showcased.
Nammi: Nammi’s electric vehicle has entered the Nepali market. Official dealer MAW Group.
Other Upcoming Brands:
- VinFast VF 5: Expected to be displayed at the show, with the official dealer Paramount Motors.
- BYD M6: Set to be showcased by official dealer Cimex Inc., who has also booked a stall at the event.
- Zeekr X: Another vehicle is expected to be displayed, with the Chaudhary Group bringing it to the show.
- XPeng: Yet to arrive in Nepal, but will be featured at the show.
