Ashma Kumari KC crowned Miss Nepal World 2024
Ashma Kumari KC crowned as Miss Nepal World 2024, winning against 25 other contestants. The pageant was held at the Godavari Sunrise Convention Center in Lalitpur. Sumana KC won Miss Nepal Earth, and Karuna Rawat won Miss Nepal International.
The event organizer, The Hidden Treasure (THT), also gave out 13 other titles this year. Shraddha Suman Silwal bagged Miss Photogenic, Dikshya Awasthi was named The Kathmandu Post Miss Intellectual, Anjana Pun won Miss Popular Choice, Urja Newa bagged Miss Fitness Queen, Simrika Manandhar won Miss Healthy Skin, Saira Khadka was named Vatsalya Miss Visionary, Preravita Swar received the title of Miss Confident, Anjana Pun won Miss DHI, Ambika Rana was named Miss Green Visionary, and Kimti Shrestha received the title of Miss Talent.
Sumana KC received her Miss Nepal Earth 2024 title from Raina Majgaiya. All three main titleholders also won additional titles. Ashma Kumari KC won Face of the Year, and Sumana KC secured Beauty with a Purpose and Miss Hygiene. The event was judged by 11 judges, including Miss Nepal World 2022 Priyanka Rani Joshi, Miss Nepal Asia-Pacific International 2017 Sahara Basnet Rana, National Cricket player Sharad Vesawkar, and actor Divya Dev. The entire show was broadcast live on Himalaya TV.
Ashma Kumari KC, 26, has a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. In the final round, she gave a winning answer about climate change, emphasizing the need to act now and be environmentally responsible. Sumana KC, 25, with a bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery, spoke about the natural hazards of climate change and the need for immediate action. Karuna Rawat, 25, with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, suggested focusing on sustainable practices, switching to electric vehicles, and reducing carbon emissions and deforestation to minimize global warming.
The finalists wore gowns designed by Manish Rai in the final round. It was also announced that Miss Nepal World 2023, Srichchha Pradhan, will compete in Miss World 2024 later this year. The evening featured a musical performance by the group Sursudha and a dance performance by Alize and her group.
