Thangka and Contemporary Art Exhibition at Takpa Gallery
The Himalayan Art Initiative is organizing a captivating exhibition at Takpa Gallery, Lazimpat, from November 9th to 23rd. This showcase will feature a unique traditional Thangka painting and contemporary art, highlighting the work of students from both disciplines.
Each artwork on display reflects the artists’ deep-rooted connection to Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, interwoven with personal narratives and contemporary perspectives. The exhibition will also feature works by artists who participated in the Himalayan Art Initiative’s residency programs, where they explored themes of identity, heritage, and personal history.
The Himalayan Art Initiative, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to preserving and promoting both Thangka Art and Contemporary Art in the Himalayan region. Through workshops, intensive training, organizational partnerships, and residency opportunities, the initiative empowers emerging artists and fosters a connection between art and society. By encouraging cultural awareness and artistic expression, the Initiative aims to sustain the legacy of Himalayan art in an ever-evolving world.
