TikTok becomes third officially registered social media platform in Nepal
The widely used short-video platform TikTok has been officially registered in Nepal. This move marks a formal entry into the country’s regulated social media landscape, Gajendra Kumar Thakur, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology confirmed on Wednesday.
“Last week, TikTok was registered according to the Directives for Managing the use of Social Networks, and on Tuesday, we issued the certification of registration,” Thakur said. TikTok is now the third social media platform to be registered in Nepal, following Viber and WeTalk.
