The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that western winds are having a moderate impact across the country, with partial cloud cover in the hilly regions and clear weather in other areas. Fog has developed in some parts of the Terai and hilly regions, while temperatures in the Kathmandu Valley continue to drop.
Meteorologists suggest that this year may experience freezing weather due to the rapid temperature drop. The department forecasts daytime temperatures in Kathmandu to range between 19°C and 21°C. Partial cloud cover is expected in the hilly areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, with clear weather elsewhere.
Light rainfall and snowfall are possible in some high-hilly and mountainous regions of these provinces. The department has advised caution, as these conditions could impact agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, and transport in the affected areas.
