Aanbookhaireni started offering motorboat rides to attract more tourists
Aanbookhaireni Rural Municipality commenced a new motorboat service in the reservoir of Marsyangdi Hydropower. The boats take tourists for rides on the lake. With an investment of Rs. 10 million, Botebora began the operation.
Two boats, named Agni and Fishtail, were built by Nepal Ship and Boat Building, the very first and largest motorboat manufacturer in Nepal.
At the opening ceremony, Hari Bahadur Chuman, a minister of Gandaki province was happy about the new service and encouraged other local governments to start similar things to attract tourists. He also mentioned plans to improve the road between a high viewpoint in Aanbookhaireni and popular tourist town nearby.
How much is the fee?
Different fees have been set according to the duration of the motorboat ride. According to the company, a motorboat ride costs Rs 250 per person for 6 to 8 minutes, Rs 500 for 10 to 12 minutes, and Rs 1,000 for a 15 to 20-minute ride.
How to reach?
The motorboat station of Botebora can be reached by traveling 14 km from Mugling towards Pokhara and 10 km from Dumre Bazar towards Kathmandu. The station is located three kilometers from Aanbookhaireni. Public transport is readily available on this route, and there is also a parking facility for those who prefer to drive.
