Kathmandu – Bangladesh has expressed deep condolences and solidarity with the Government and people of Nepal over the loss of lives and extensive damage caused by recent flash floods and landslides across the country.
In a condolence message issued on Wednesday, Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Nepal, Md. Shafiqur Rahman, conveyed the deepest condolences and profound sympathies of the Government and people of Bangladesh to Nepal following the devastating disaster.
The ambassador expressed heartfelt sympathy to the families who lost their loved ones and to communities affected by the floods and landslides.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family members and communities facing the tragedy,” the message said.
Ambassador Rahman reaffirmed Bangladesh’s solidarity with the Government and resilient people of Nepal as the country continues search, rescue, relief and recovery efforts in the affected areas.
He also said that Bangladesh stands ready to extend any necessary assistance to the people and Government of Nepal during this difficult period.
The recent disasters, particularly the devastating flash flood in the Bhote Koshi River corridor of Rasuwa, have caused significant loss of life and extensive damage to roads, bridges, settlements and other infrastructure. The disaster has also disrupted transportation and affected travelers and pilgrims using the Nepal–China border route.
Nepal continues to mobilize government agencies, security forces, local authorities and other stakeholders for rescue, relief and restoration of essential services in the affected areas.
