BAW E7 Pro to launch in Nepal

KATHMANDU: LRR Motors, the authorised distributor of Beijing Automobile Works (BAW) in Nepal, is preparing to launch the BAW E7 Pro, a compact all-electric hatchback aimed at expanding affordable EV choices in the country’s growing electric vehicle market. The company plans to officially unveil the model in early August.

Designed primarily for city driving, the E7 Pro combines compact dimensions with a spacious cabin and modern features. It is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor paired with a high-capacity lithium battery, offering smooth acceleration, efficient performance, and a comfortable driving experience for everyday use.

One of the standout features of the E7 Pro is its rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration, which provides improved weight distribution, better hill-climbing capability, enhanced handling, and greater driving stability. According to LRR Motors, these characteristics make the vehicle well suited to Nepal’s urban roads as well as its challenging hilly terrain.

Jeevan Jung Shahi, Managing Director of LRR Motors, said the launch reflects the company’s commitment to introducing globally competitive electric vehicles to the Nepali market. He added that the E7 Pro’s positive reception in Sri Lanka, combined with its technology, build quality, and performance, gives the company confidence that it will appeal to Nepali customers.

With more than 70 years of automotive manufacturing experience, BAW is one of China’s oldest automobile manufacturers and is also known for producing vehicles for the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA). The company says the E7 Pro has been developed for young professionals, families, first-time EV buyers, entrepreneurs, and ride-sharing operators seeking an affordable electric car with modern technology.
