Booking of JMEV Brand Chinese Luxury Taxis Makes Headway

Bookings for the new electric taxis, brought to Nepal by Sarina G Trade Pvt. Ltd., have opened and are making headway. The taxi, under the JMEV brand, is said to cost Rs 4.15 million and can be booked by paying Rs 1.1 million. The company also stated that a discount of Rs 50,000 will be offered to those making the bookings by February 27.
The taxi is equipped with a 49 kWh battery pack and a 99 kW motor. Raju Shrestha, president of the company, claimed that no other EV taxi has the range that is provided by its JMEV brand. It is claimed to provide a range of 430 kilometers on a single charge, while most of other taxis has a range of 200 to 300 kilometers. He also claimed that its boot space is bigger than that of any other brand taxis.
Its maximum torque is 225 Nm and power is 134.6 PS. This EV supports both AC and DC chargers and can be charged from 30 to 80 percent within 30 minutes with the help of a DC fast charger. Also, a full charge can be done in 9 hours with an AC charger and 1 hour and 15 minutes with a DC charger. The company has given a warranty of 8 years or 150 thousand kilometers on its battery and 3 years or 60 thousand kilometers on the motor.
This taxi has a length of 4675 mm, width 1835 mm and height of 1480 mm and a wheelbase of 2750 mm, while the ground clearance is 170 mm. It also has a front wheel drive system. It has features such as dual zone AC, regenerative braking, three driving modes, projector headlamps, keyless entry, and traction control. Additionally, it has features like cruise control, electric parking brake, tire pressure monitor system, 410-liter boot space, collision sensing automatic unlock, multi-function steering wheel, IP 67 waterproof battery pack, and three-way driver and passenger seat adjustment. Safety features include 2 airbags, ABS with EBD braking system, auto hold, hill assist control, rear parking sensors, and anti-pinch window glass.
The company states that some 500 of these vehicles will enter the Valley in the coming 5 to 6 weeks time.
