Changemakers honored with” National Social Welfare Award 2025 “in Kathmandu
Kathmandu: Individuals and organizations contributing significantly to social transformation have been honored with the National Social Welfare Award 2025 at a special ceremony held in the capital.
The event, organized by Season Media Pvt. Ltd., took place at the Rastriya Nachghar in Jamal. Social activists and professionals from various sectors were recognized for their impactful work in society.
Among those honored were social activists Aniket Kapali and Hikmat Thapa, founder of Sano Ghar Bimala Shrestha, businessman and social worker Ejaz Alam, activist Maya Thami, Professor Dr. Pawan Kumar Mandal, heritage conservationist Ganapati Lal Shrestha, LGBTQ+ rights activist Pinky Gurung, President of Community Development Center Nepal Radha Matangi, and artist and activist Resham Nepking.
Similarly, Rajarama Shrestha from the Nepal Red Cross Society Kathmandu District Branch, Rebika Sahane, Sarita Lamichhane, health volunteer Sarita Kumari Shah, Tilak Bahadur Batala, and cultural leader Tasi Dongba Hyolmo were also honored.
The program was attended by notable figures including senior journalist Khil Bahadur Bhandari, spokesperson of the Non-Resident Nepali Association Somnath Sapkota, public relations officer of Global IME Bank Yogesh Pokharel, businessman and social worker Amit Sharma, senior photojournalist Hari Gopal Shrestha, and editor-in-chief of News Polar Sushil Aryal, who served as advisors.
Acting Chief Election Commissioner of the Election Commission Nepal Ram Prasad Bhandari attended as the chief guest, while Vice President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and President of the Women’s Chamber Urmila Shrestha was present as the special guest. They presented awards and certificates to the honorees.
Chairman of Season Media Pvt. Ltd., Pradeep Raj Want, said the program aims to recognize individual and institutional efforts that bring positive social change and inspire the younger generation toward social responsibility. He expressed confidence that such initiatives would strengthen the values of humanity, inclusiveness, and cooperation.
Season Media Pvt. Ltd. stated that it has been organizing programs related to social, corporate, media, and entertainment sectors for years.
