Kathmandu – Citizens Bank International Limited has provided a Reverse Osmosis (RO) system to the dialysis unit of Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi-01, Kailali, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The support is expected to further strengthen dialysis services for kidney patients across Sudurpashchim Province. The hospital’s dialysis unit currently operates 21 dialysis machines in three shifts, providing regular treatment to around 242 patients.
Considering the hospital’s immediate needs, the bank held discussions with the hospital management team to identify its most urgent requirement. Accordingly, priority was given to installing an RO system to help ensure safe and sustainable dialysis treatment.
At a ceremony held at Seti Provincial Hospital, Citizens Bank Chief Executive Officer Ganesh Raj Pokharel formally handed over the RO system to the hospital’s dialysis unit.
Addressing the event, Pokharel said he was pleased that the bank could contribute to improving healthcare services for kidney patients in Sudurpashchim Province.
He wished for the improved health and well-being of patients receiving treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital and said the support would particularly benefit kidney patients from low-income and disadvantaged communities.
Citizens Bank said it has been implementing various programmes in areas such as health, education, social development and economic empowerment under its CSR initiatives and plans to continue similar activities in the future.
The bank, which has received the prestigious Bank of the Year 2024 and 2025 awards, has also introduced several digital banking services. In collaboration with Fonepay, it launched the Citizens Fonepay Credit Card, described as Nepal’s first virtual credit card of its kind.
More recently, the bank introduced the Citizens Gen-Z Saving Account targeting young customers and launched an integrated online platform called Citizens Digi Bank Service.
It has also introduced a Freelancer Saving Account designed for freelancers. In addition, the bank offers facilities that allow customers to apply for shares and obtain CRN services directly through its mobile banking application.
Citizens Bank has also launched a cross-bank teller facility, enabling customers of other banks to withdraw cash from Citizens Bank branches by scanning a teller QR code.
Citizens Bank International Limited currently provides modern banking services to more than 2.064 million customers through 200 branches, 167 ATMs, three extension counters and 42 branchless banking units across 61 districts of Nepal.
