Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal requests special waivers for passengers affected by recent natural disaster
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has urged all international airlines operating to and from Nepal to provide special relief for passengers affected by the recent floods and landslides. Due to the adverse weather conditions, many flights have been disrupted across the country.
In an official notice, CAAN has asked airlines to waive charges for passengers scheduled to fly between 27 September to 2 October 2024. These waivers include date change fees, no-show charges, and any applicable fare differences. The authority also clarified that these waivers would be valid for travel until 11 October 2024.
This initiative aims to offer some relief to those whose travel plans were disrupted due to the extreme weather conditions and related disasters. Airlines have been encouraged to cooperate to ensure smoother travel arrangements during this difficult time.
