Dashain travel boosted by high demand and the peak Tourist season

Flight bookings to Kathmandu have surged ahead of the Dashain festival, with airlines reporting increased demand from Nepalis abroad returning home for celebrations.

Airlines including Himalaya Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Fly Dubai, Malaysia Airlines, Malindo Air, Thai Airways, Air Indigo, Cathay Pacific, Air India, and Vistara have noted a significant booking rise. Due to the high demand, fares have increased by up to 25% as tickets at regular prices are quickly selling out.

The number of tourists visiting Nepal is also rising, with over 72,000 foreign tourists arriving in August. The inflow is expected to grow further in September, leading into the peak tourist season from September to November.
