Kathmandu — The domestic terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport is witnessing increased passenger movement as people travel to their hometowns and return to Kathmandu to celebrate Dashain with their families.
The annual festive rush has increased demand for domestic flights, with passengers travelling to different parts of the country for family gatherings and celebrations. Airlines are also preparing to handle the rise in passenger numbers during the holiday period.
Air travel has become an important option for Dashain travellers, particularly for destinations where long road journeys can take considerably more time. The movement at the domestic terminal reflects the wider seasonal trend of people leaving Kathmandu Valley for the festival.
With passenger numbers expected to remain high throughout the Dashain period, travellers are advised to arrive at the airport early, confirm their flight schedules and allow extra time for check-in and security procedures.
The busy terminal marks the beginning of one of Nepal’s largest annual travel periods, as families across the country make their way home for Dashain.
