FIFA World Cup 2026 — The tournament will offer major prize money to every participating team, making it one of the biggest financial rewards in football history.
According to FIFA’s announced prize structure, all 48 teams taking part in the tournament will receive money based on how far they progress. Teams reaching the Round of 32 will get $11 million, while teams reaching the Round of 16 will receive $15 million each.
The prize money will increase in the later stages. Quarter-finalists will receive $19 million, the fourth-place team will get $27 million, the third-place team will earn $29 million, and the runners-up will receive $33 million.
The biggest reward will go to the World Cup champions, who will take home $50 million. FIFA said the expanded 2026 tournament, featuring 48 teams, will have a larger financial package than previous editions.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. With more teams, more matches, and higher prize money, the tournament is expected to become the biggest World Cup ever staged.
